LEADERSHIP & TEAM COACHING

how people lead shapes how organisations work.

Create Connection provides professional inclusive coaching for leaders and teams navigating responsibility, relationships, difference and change.

Coaching creates space to think clearly, understand impact and develop ways of leading and working that are both effective and sustainable.

WHO I WORK WITH

coaching for people with influence, responsibility and complex work.

Coaching engagements are designed around the person, team and organisational context rather than a standard programme.

leaders

For leaders who want to understand their impact, strengthen relationships, navigate complexity and lead with greater clarity and confidence.

teams

For established or developing teams seeking stronger trust, communication, collaboration and collective responsibility.

leaders navigating change

For people leading through transition, uncertainty, competing demands or a significant organisational shift.

people leading inclusively

For leaders who want to understand difference, reduce unnecessary barriers and create conditions in which more people can contribute.

WHAT WE MIGHT EXPLORE

the human work behind organisational performance.

  • leadership and impact

Developing self-awareness, understanding how leadership is experienced and making more deliberate choices about how to lead.

  • trust and relationships

Strengthening the quality of communication, connection and trust across important working relationships.

  • change and uncertainty

Making sense of change, working with ambiguity and sustaining clarity and agency when the path is not straightforward.

  • inclusive leadership

Recognising different needs and ways of thinking, examining assumptions and developing leadership practices that enable meaningful participation.

  • sustainable performance

Exploring the conditions that support energy, focus, boundaries, wellbeing and performance that can be maintained over time.

INDIVIDUAL COACHING

space to think—and support to move forward.

Leadership can be demanding and isolating. Individual coaching provides a confidential, reflective space to step back from immediate pressures, examine what is happening and consider new possibilities.

This may include

  • A defined series of coaching conversations
  • Clear goals agreed with the client
  • Confidentiality and ethical boundaries
  • Reflection and practical experimentation between sessions
  • A review of learning and next steps

TEAM COACHING

from individual contribution to collective capability.

A team is more than a collection of capable individuals. Team coaching helps people examine how they work as a system: their shared purpose, relationships, patterns, assumptions and impact.

This may include

  • Team purpose and priorities
  • Roles, expectations and interdependence
  • Trust and psychological safety
  • Communication and constructive challenge
  • Decision-making and accountability

SPECIALIST PRACTICE

conflict management coaching

Differences of opinion are not always a sign that something has gone wrong. Handled constructively, they can challenge assumptions, improve decisions and create the conditions for learning and innovation.

Conflict management coaching offers a confidential space to understand difficult dynamics, develop practical skills and approach disagreement with greater clarity and confidence. Susan helps clients explore their own responses, consider different perspectives and prepare for more constructive conversations.

Coaching may support people who want to

  • Navigate tension with a colleague, manager or stakeholder
  • Prepare for a challenging conversation
  • Build confidence in addressing disagreement early
  • Use constructive challenge to support creativity and better decisions
  • Lead teams in which different perspectives can be expressed safely
  • Understand recurring communication difficulties
  • Rebuild trust following conflict
  • Navigate differences in communication, processing, expectations and working styles within a neurodiverse workplace

Neurodiversity can add valuable perspectives to organisational life, while differences in communication and interpretation may sometimes contribute to misunderstanding. Coaching avoids treating one style as the norm or locating responsibility solely with the neurodivergent person. Instead, it considers mutual understanding, clarity, accessibility and the wider conditions in which people are working.

The work is reflective and practical. It may involve identifying patterns, clarifying what matters, considering power and organisational context, rehearsing conversations and developing approaches that make room for both respectful challenge and psychological safety.

Conflict management coaching is distinct from mediation, workplace investigation, grievance management, legal advice or therapy. Where another form of support would be more appropriate, Susan will say so openly.
